Manchester Science Festival is committed to ensuring all our events are as open and accessible as possible. We would welcome your feedback and suggestions to help us achieve this vision.
Visitors of all ages are welcome at our events, unless advertised as Adult 18+ or children to be accompanied by adults. We provide age guidance for some events to help you make the most out of your visit. If you have any questions, please contact the Festival team.
Large print brochure
A large print format programme can be posted on request. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0161 606 0169 to request a copy. Alternatively you can download a copy of the large print brochure here.
Personal assistant tickets (also known as carer tickets)
We recognise that some customers require assistance in order to enjoy their visit and so we can offer an additional ticket, free of charge, for any customer who requires a personal assistant to accompany them.
A personal assistant can be a friend, a family member or somebody supporting you in a professional role.
Examples of the support they might provide could be:
- Assisting you to get around the venue.
- Helping you to communicate with museum staff.
- Providing personal care.
- Helping you to stay safe in an emergency.
- Any other reasonable tasks that you require.
If you would like to make the most of our personal assistant tickets, select your ticket type, plus an additional personal assistant ticket when booking your event. Please note that we recognise the contribution made by personal assistants and will do our best to ensure they have an enjoyable experience. However, they may not always be able to take part in the activity, such as in workshops with a limited capacity. This will be clearly indicated on the booking pages of any such event.
Some of our partners have chosen to manage the ticketing for their own events. If you would like to attend one of these events, please contact the venue directly to discuss your needs.
The vast majority of our venues are wheelchair accessible. A small proportion of venues do not have wheelchair access due to the age of the building. We apologies for any inconvenience caused.
For more details about a venue’s accessibility, please see the venue directory for individual venue pages which have more information about access and contact details for access enquiries.
If you have specific access requirements, please send an email to email@example.com so that this can be shared with the venue or event organiser.
Where required, the Festival may be able to source BSL interpretation, hearing loops, audio typists and numerous other specialist services to make the event as enjoyable for our visitors as possible. We may need some time to organise these facilities so please get in touch as soon as possible.
If you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the Manchester Science Festival team, please see our contact page or call 0161 606 0169.
