Shining Molly: Love, Sex and Inkblots

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2018.

Meet Molly Harrower: scientist, poet and extraordinary woman. Join us for an interactive dramatised reading at the Portico library as Emma Anderson and Jonathan Swinton explore the legacy of Shining Molly, a pioneer in the field of Gestalt psychology. Historians, guest speakers and even some audience members will read from her autobiography, painting a picture of a scientist who did it all: working on inkblot tests to try and make sense of the Nazi personality, setting up her own clinical psychology practice and dealing with turbulent times with love, thought, and poetry. Stay for a drink after the reading and raise a toast to Molly’s life while basking in the beautifully historic space of The Portico Library.
