Placebo: Sound Affects

Part of Clod Ensemble's Placebo

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2018.

Sound affects us all. Music alters moods, intonation changes inclination, but why? Drawing on the latest research and technological advancements in psychoacoustics, we invite you to explore the relationship between sound, acoustics and wellbeing. Lend us your ears and decipher the psychological and physiological responses we have to everything from music to noise pollution. Professor of Acoustic Ecology and Sound Art at Goldmiths University, John Drever, will be hosting, but it’s your input that’ll get the whole thing sounding pitch-perfect.
