A scientist showing a boy how to make an agar plate.

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2018.

Look who’s coming to dinner. And to the bathroom. And to the kitchen… Some house guests just don’t know when to leave, and thankfully, the organisms that live in your body are no exception. Explore the eclectic microbial world within you, listening to their DNA signatures, taking microbiology “selfies” that will become part of a giant Petri dish artwork, open your eyes to other-worldly views of real microbes and sink beneath the biofilm on a virtual reality tour. Pop yourself under the microscope and hear the latest developments in our citizen science project where your data can shape active research findings.
