A Grand Exposition

A Grand Exposition: Arcade

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2017.

Part of A Grand Exposition, you can take part in an Arcade like no other. From maker workshops, to a steampunk market and grand auction. There will be a mix of bookable workshops, drop in activities and performances inspired by the A Grand Exposition: Sci-Art happening throughout the weekend for a range of ages.

Each day has its own distinct identity:

Friday at the Arcade gives you the opportunity to meet the Talbot Mill community and take part in artist-led workshops. On Saturday, you can explore and interact with the artists and creators of the MakerZone, create patterns in the world of Minecraft and marvel at the weird and wonderful artworks, clothing, homeware and gifts at the Steampunk MarketPlace. Sunday celebrates the finale of this weekend extravaganza, with even more activities and workshops where you can make a circuit using thermochromic ink and taste some craft ales from Talbot Mill’s very own brewery if you’re of drinking age. Plus, there’s high tea and The Grand Auction, where you can bid on items as varied as particle accelerator jewellery to antique electronic curiosities and even the furniture.
