Tim Peake on the International Space Station

Tim Peake’s adventures to go live from Manchester!

Tickets for Tim Peake’s appearance at the Museum of Science and Industry sold out in under an hour – but anyone not lucky enough to grab one can now watch the event online, as it is being livestreamed in partnership with the Manchester Evening News.

The livestream will be available to watch on the MEN website and also at specially set up locations around the Museum.

And children can get involved by tweeting their questions for the astronaut in advance to @McrSciFest using the hashtag #AskTimPeake.

We can also announce that the hosts of the event will be CBBC Newsround stars Ricky and Leah Boleto.

The event is a trailblazer for the Manchester Science Festival, which is sponsored by Siemens. The festival includes dozens of family-friendly events such as a performance by the Robot Orchestra and a science jam at MediaCityUK where children can take part in loads of hands-on activities.

Manchester Science Festival Director Antonio Benitez said: “Demand for tickets to our Manchester Science Festival trailblazer with Tim Peake was phenomenal, so I am really excited to announce that this event is going to be livestreamed, meaning thousands more people can put their questions to one of the UK’s greatest astronauts.

“This event is the perfect example of our commitment to providing fantastic, inspirational events for all ages at the 10th Manchester Science Festival.”

The Manchester Science Festival runs from 20 to 30 October. For more information, visit www.manchestersciencefestival.com

The festival is sponsored by Siemens, as part of their Curiosity Project, alongside educational sponsor the University of Salford.
