Featuring stunning astrophotography and a cast of eclectic scientists, philosophers, historians, and lighting designers, The City Dark is the definitive story of light pollution and the disappearing stars.

Dark Skies Consultant Steve Owens will introduce the film and talk about the wonderful sights visible in a dark sky - thousands of stars, nebulae, galaxies and shooting stars - as well as the efforts that have been made around the world to limit light pollution and keep our skies dark.

Steve is a freelance dark skies consultant, and helped establish Europe's first International Dark Sky Park in Galloway Forest in 2009.  He is Chair of the International Dark-sky Association's Development Committee, and the author of the forthcoming "Stargazing for Dummies" book.
