Please note this event is fully booked.
This event is part of the University's Star Lecture series which brings together prominent academics from the University of Manchester with local school and college students. The lectures combine elements of the curriculum with the presenters' research interests including some of the most recent developments in their disciplines. The lectures are filmed and made available on the University website so that teachers can also use these as teaching aids in the classroom.
This lecture will be given by Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, President of The University of Manchester. Professor Rothwell's current research focuses on the role of inflammation in brain disease and she has recently served as president of the British Neuroscience Association.
Professor Rothwell's Star Lecture will focus on diseases of the brain, the causes and treatments for such disease and current research into this area. The lecture will be most appropriate for students studying Biology at level 3.
