Café Scientifique: Genetics of human intelligence

Brain sketch

Are some people just born more intelligent? Does our genome dictate our IQ scores? Dr Antony Payton will discuss the genetic basis of intelligence - what we know, how we discovered this and the controversies of this research. He will describe his current work, including the results of an ongoing £1.3 million project to find genes associated with intelligence and cognitive decline in the elderly. This talk will be followed by an informal Q&A session.
