Meteorites and Fireballs

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2017.

The sky is falling! Take cover from meteors, meteorites and all other falling rocks at Quarry Bank. Sky debris has quite a history here. Robert Philips Greg, a founding family member wrote a book called ‘Meteorites and Fireballs’ in 1861 and the family also built their very own observatory in the Upper Garden. Now you can go back to that first space age, with interactive activities and experiments about meteors, fireballs, friction and more.
