A man holding a guitar in front of a white background with mathematical equations written on it

Born to Sum

This is a past event from Manchester Science Festival 2017.

Have you ever noticed that the world’s biggest popstars are all secretly maths nerds? FameLab 2016 champion Kyle D Evans has. Join the maths muso and guitarslinging geek himself as he takes you on a comedic romp through pop music. Pointing out the maths ideas hiding in your favourite tunes, he’ll point out the algebra in Beyonce’s song titles to Kate Bush’s fondness for pi. A veteran of Edinburgh Fringe and BBC Radio 4’s cult numbers show ‘More or Less,’ Kyle’s eye (and ear) opening show is perfect for nerds and novices alike.
